CFH recently sponsored the Currie Chieftains Under 15s rugby team on their May 2025 tour to Yorkshire, helping ensure that every player could take part in a weekend full of challenges, new activities and celebrations.
Currie Chieftains RFC are a community-centric rugby club, based close to our Livingston site at Starlaw Business Park. When the opportunity presented itself at the start of the year to support the proud local club with a sponsorship, we were keen to help, especially with the cause focused on inclusion and team spirit.
At CFH, we’re proud to support initiatives like this that invest in young people and local communities. We already sponsor a number of causes, including both junior and senior football teams for boys, girls and men, and we’re always keen to back grassroots sport wherever we can to make a positive difference.
The tour - centred around the Harrogate Rugby Festival - offered the young athletes the chance to compete, grow as a team, and create memories that will last a lifetime. With costs covered in part by CFH's donation, the support meant that no player was left behind due to financial barriers.
On Day 1 of the tournament, the Chieftains competed against five teams, claiming two impressive victories and narrowly missing a third - a fantastic achievement against sides from traditionally larger southern clubs. With our logo proudly displayed on the team’s tour gear and programme, we were delighted to support a community club that has welcomed players of all backgrounds since its founding in 1970.
The trip was about more than rugby. The juniors also enjoyed a range of unforgettable team-building activities, from quad biking and 4x4 driving to archery, axe throwing, an Olympic-style challenge, and a lake assault course. Supporting the tour was a meaningful way for CFH to give something back to the local community and to play a small part in helping these young players enjoy new experiences on and off the pitch.
Paul Anstruther, Currie Chieftains Tour Manager, said:
“It was really important to us to make this tour financially inclusive to all team members - they are a team on the pitch and they should be a team throughout experiences like this. We were delighted to receive the support of CFH, an organisation with which we share many of the same values.”
Company Director and Livingston site General Manager Bryan Knowles reflects:
“It was a great to see the whole team enjoy such a fantastic event and learn many valuable skills for the future whilst also enjoying themselves. For CFH to play just a small part in this project is a huge privilege and we look forward to working with the Chieftains again.”
Players, families, and coaches were all incredibly grateful for the support, which helped turn the tour into a fantastic experience. Whether it was discovering new places together or sharing in the highs of victory, the experience brought the group even closer and left them with memories they’ll carry for years to come.
We’ll be keenly following their progress and look forward to supporting the Chieftains in all of their future adventures!
