CFH Receive The Payroll Giving Gold Award For The 6th Year

By Courtney-Jade Mather, Marketing and Events Co-ordinator

We are thrilled to once again have received the Payroll Giving Gold Award. This year, we have received two awards, one for our head office in Radstock and the other for our Livingston site, in Scotland. This prestigious recognition reflects the generosity of our staff, showcasing their commitment to charitable giving.

WHAT IS PAYROLL GIVING?

Payroll Giving is an efficient and straightforward method for employees to make monthly donations, directly from their pre-tax salary, to any registered charity or recognised cause. This approach not only facilitates a seamless donation process but also maximises the impact of contributions for communities in need.

By donating before tax is deducted, employees enable their chosen charities to receive steady funding without the administrative burden of reclaiming tax through HM Revenue & Customs. This ensures that more of each donation goes directly to supporting vital charitable work.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Employees decide which charity or charities they would like to support and how much they’d like to donate, then each month the payment is made directly from their pay. Because the donation is taken from pay before tax is deducted, donors receive tax relief on their donation immediately and at their highest rate of tax. By doing it this way, the government also contributes towards the charity of your choice. For example, for 20% taxpayers it would only cost £8 to make a £10 donation. For 40% taxpayers it would only cost £6 to make the same-sized donation. Meaning that charities can maximise donations.

WHAT IS THE GOLD AWARD?

The Payroll Giving awards have several tiers of recognition that are designed to acknowledge corporate engagement and generosity. Among these, the Gold Quality mark is awarded to companies where 10% or more of their employees are enrolled in the scheme. These charities range from those in the top 10, to local charities to our 3 sites.

THANK YOU TO THE STAFF OF CFH

Receiving this award would not be possible without the generosity of our staff. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of staff who has donated, not just this year, but over the past 6 years.

This award motivates us to continue fostering a culture of kindness and social responsibility, aiming to make a meaningful impact on the world we live in.
