We are pleased to announce that our leading hybrid mail platform, Docmail, has been named an approved supplier on the Birmingham & Solihull ICB Local Assurance Framework.
Through an extensive process, and with three IG reviews of the system, the teams from CFH worked with the ICB to answer the framework requirements and complete the assessment successfully.
The Local Assurance Framework has been developed by the Birmingham & Solihull ICB Digital team and consists of approved suppliers who have answered a series of questions. These questions relate to software, applications and services for all mobile and desktop applications, for both organisation and patient use.
The framework process must be followed before a software, application or service-based product is installed on the infrastructure and/or used by GP Practices and the ICB. The process also applies to pre-existing software. The purpose of the robust process is to assess the safety and security standards of a system from an Information Governance, Clinical Safety, Cyber Security and SLA perspective.
The ICB has stated that healthcare providers under their services need to be working with suppliers that are approved on this framework.
It has never been more important to know where and how your data is being used. As standard, you need to be able to trust that the suppliers you work with can handle this sensitive data in the best possible way.
With a rise in data breaches and cyber-attacks, those within healthcare are scrutinizing existing processes and suppliers to ensure that their requirements are met when handling such personal data.
For this reason, healthcare organisations are developing their own frameworks and data security assessments to identify suppliers who they trust to handle not only their data, but their important processes. These frameworks act as a pre-approved list of suppliers, to indicate to organisations that they have already passed qualifying criteria specific to the industry requirements.
Here at CFH, we are always happy to undergo audits and framework assessments so that our partners can be sure we continuously exceed their data security requirements to the highest standards.
