CFH is pleased to announce that we have been awarded ISO 22301:2019 certification, the international standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
The certification covers a wide range of our core services, including digital services, critical mail, postal services, inbound document processing, transactional mail, and printing and enclosing. For organisations that rely on CFH to deliver secure, time-critical communications, this latest certification represents an important milestone.
ISO 22301 is the internationally recognised standard for Business Continuity Management. Developed by the International Organization for Standardisation, it provides a structured framework that helps organisations prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents.
ISO 22301 ensures that essential services can continue during events such as system failures, power outages, infrastructure damage, or other unforeseen disruptions. It focuses on identifying risks, protecting critical activities, and reducing recovery time so services can be restored quickly and safely.
Disruptions to business operations can occur in many forms, often leading to extended downtime and increased operational risk. CFH’s Business Continuity Policy is designed to ensure essential operations and services can continue during disruptive events, providing a clear framework for identifying critical business functions, defining recovery strategies, and maintaining organisational resilience in the face of unexpected challenges.
CFH’s Business Continuity Management System comprises a suite of documented procedures that define how incidents are managed and how services are maintained or recovered within predetermined timeframes. These procedures focus on:
This structured approach ensures that business continuity planning is operational, embedded, and actively maintained across the entire organisation.
As part of the certification process, an independent third party certification governing body conducted an intensive three-day audit of CFH’s Business Continuity Management System. The audit examined our documentation, processes, and procedures in detail, with particular focus on our ability to:
Successful completion of this audit confirmed that CFH’s BCMS fully meets the requirements of ISO 22301:2019, resulting in the award of certification.
The BCMS project began in January 2025 and has been a demanding journey involving teams across the business. Being awarded ISO 22301 certification demonstrates that CFH has a certified, independently verified approach to business continuity in place.
It signals strong operational resilience, reduced risk, and a structured, tested method for managing incidents. For customers and partners, it provides confidence that continuity planning is embedded into CFH’s operations.
A sincere thank you to all department managers and staff who contributed to the development and testing of our Business Continuity Plans, and to everyone who supported and participated in the audit.
