Team CFH are gearing up for the 2026 Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 15th March, with members of our Radstock team lacing their running shoes in support of local charity Time Is Precious.
Founded by Neil and Nicky Halford in memory of their son Ben, the charity help to make life more comfortable for children and families, both in hospital and at home – a cause that means a great deal to many at CFH. That’s why the Bath Half Marathon, a much-loved charity event since 1982, is such a fitting opportunity to support this incredible organisation.
Meet the six runners taking on the challenge below and discover what’s motivated them to run this year - in their own words:

I decided to do the bath half because I enjoy a challenge and I enjoy pushing myself hard. I completed Prague marathon last may in 4:43 and I also did Bath Half last year in 2:02. This year I knew I wanted to do another running challenge and thought that I’d want to do it for a good cause. Fortunately for me, the opportunity with Time Is Precious came up and I thought it was the perfect charity to do it for. Training is going well, my biggest goal this year is running a sub-20 5K so majority of training is going towards that!

This will be my seventh time running the Bath Half in support of TIP. I first ran for the charity in 2012, which I believe was the inaugural TIP Bath Half team, and went on to represent them again in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. My most recent Bath Half appearance was in 2019, when I ran for Bath RUH. Since then, my focus has shifted towards marathon and ultra-distance events. I know Nicky and Neil from TIP well, and it will be a genuine pleasure to run for them again in 2026.

Bath Half will be my first ever half marathon. I only began running towards the end of 2025, so this represents a significant personal challenge for me. I’ll be running in memory of my dad, who passed away from colon cancer in August. Supporting Time Is Precious feels like a meaningful way to honour him, as he spent time at the RUH towards the end of his life, and I know how strongly he would have supported the funding of new equipment for children cared for by staff at the hospital.

This will be my second time running the Bath Half and completing it will be a real personal achievement. Having run the race once before, I know what to expect and just how tough the course can be, both physically and mentally. That challenge is exactly what makes it so rewarding. I’m especially proud to be running in support of Time Is Precious – a truly wonderful charity doing vital work to support families when they need it most, which makes taking part even more meaningful.

I signed up to the bath half as there have been many occasions over the last couple of years whereby my family have directly benefitted from the improvements and equipment that TIP have provided to the RUH. I am on a mission, not only to complete the bath half but to more importantly, raise as much money as I can for a very worthy charity. My training so far has been a bit of a struggle with two small children but I'm hopeful that on the day, with lots of cheering and support I will cross that finish line!

This year, I’m running for Time Is Precious to do my bit to give back to an incredible charity. In 2019, I spent five days in the RUH children’s ward with my son, and we directly benefited from the things this charity funds, which helped make a difficult time a little more bearable. I’ve run the Bath Half a few times in the past, but this will be my first race in over a year. Training is going well, and I’m slowly building my fitness back up as the big day approaches.
